Troy went into Conway and progressively beat the snot out of CCU each game. Take note.
No doubt. Next weekend is the biggest series for the Cajuns in quite a while. Win 2/3 and I think the regular season title is pretty much won. Troy would have to sweep both of the last 2 weekends and the Cajuns win just 2 of 6 against Ga. Southern and S. Al
They’ve been scoring a ton of runs recently. But most of those games were at App, in their own stadium, and at Coastal…3 VERY friendly hitters parks.
If I’m being honest, I think Coastal had a huge let down, and were a bit WORN down after an emotional series against the Cajuns, traveling half way across the country to play 2 midweek games against a very good Creighton team, and then back home for this series.
Let’s not forget, this is the same Troy team that lost a weekend series to Northwestern State earlier this season. If the Cajuns play Cajun baseball, I expect a series win.
Definitely a key series
Win the series 2-1, Cajuns up 4 games for the conference championship with only 2 series left and a nice shot in the arm for RPI with the road wins.
Lose the series 1-2, it's a 2 game lead with 2 series left.
Certainly a legitimate point.
Yes ... but teams change ... and momentum is a real thing. By the same token, Troy fans can be saying ... "Let's not forget, this is the same Louisiana team that lost a weekend series to Rice earlier this season.".
I think it is going to be another war to win the series next weekend. Looking forward to it. This is really fun, leading up to what looks to be an outstanding Sun Belt Baseball Tournament.

Yep. Losing the series would raise the pucker factor quite a bit. Troy has Texas St on the road the following week, who’s been in a (hard to believe) free fall since the Cajuns series, and then finish with a solid JMU team at home. I’ve watched JMU a couple times. They remind me a lot of last years Cajuns. They’ve got a lot of good looking kids on offense. Athletic, physical and well put together. They swing it well. The pitching is pretty suspect outside of the Saturday starter, who’s having a nice year.
