I see David Leblanc (STM) basically begging us to giving their players a chance. There’s a lot of good hs football played in Acadiana. Should we look into STM, Acadiana, SMSH, etc. more than we already are? Loyalty to home and more fan interest? Just spitballing at this point.

Ya’ll are over reacting. Sure the kids an athlete, but he really isn’t as good as you are making him out to be. He was 3-3 as a starter. Beat a bad buffalo team. Really got lucky at Texas State, he threw what should have been a game losing pick at a crucial point in the game instead of throwing the ball away. Somehow the defender dropped it. He really didn’t have to do anything against south Alabama. When your defense gets 5 turnovers it’s kind of hard to lose. Teams were figuring him out.

He was probably told he had to compete with Ben. Cajuns will be fine at QB. Ben will be starter next year and he will mentor Lunch and the new freshman to compete for the job in the future.

Didn't JB just leave Memphis because he wasn't getting the money he was told he'd get?

He was young and by far, the most talented QB we had on the roster. We could have built an offense around him. Come on

I am fan of the school not the players. I understand how fans can get attached to players. Even as a coach you can’t be to attached to players you can care without getting attached. At the end of the day you gotta do what you got to do to be successful no matter the circumstances.
And those teams are made up of players. If you lose one of, if not your best player, you're going to be upset.

This seems to be at least partially the realization our staff came to as well signing all conference players from South Carolina State and Georgetown. It makes sense. As evidenced by our bowl game, the star players at the FCS level are every bit capable of succeeding at the G5 level. Hopefully do this even more in the future.

Man, you sound like a jilted lover. There's a reason schools offered him so much money, AND why WE offered him so much to STAY! Your gf just walked off with the guy driving a Ferrari. You're hurt. I get it. But let's not talk crazy.

Not sure if you’re kidding but Zeon is a projectable talent with professional frame. His upside was easy to see.

And he was 100% the starter next year.

You're probably right. Just a very frustrating last...let's say six weeks, as a fan of the football program. Finishing the season 1-4, starting with getting slapped around by a team we were double digit favors over and ending with a loss to FBS startup Jacksonville State where our offense mustered less than 250 yards of total offense and scored 10 points.

I'm sure we couldn't match any sort of P5 NIL offer if that's what Zeon has in front of him, and such could very likely mean ALOT of money for his family (I don't know his background). As a fan, it's just another kick in the gut.
