Not so much NIL, but the 3rd Party Agents working behind the scenes shopping players to other programs is what's driving people away from college football. Personally, I will never give money to a collective to attempt to buy & retain players. Instead, I would rather give directly to a player.

I agree that the timing of Zeon Chriss' announcement is telling. Why would you try to derail a day of promise for the future with your announcement that you are leaving? If Zeon Chriss does leave it would be extremely disappointing. He represented some of the hope we have for the future. A very talented QB with 3 years remaining. At this time, UL football fans are looking desperately for hope and comfort that the future will be better. This does not help.

Some school didn't sign the QB they wanted and threw a bunch of money at him. It's the only reason you announce today. The school likely gave him a time frame to commit or they were moving on.
