1. The entire west side, not just the upper deck, will be brand new. Aisles will be wider, and all seats will either be chairs or bench back.
2. A lot of thought was put into concessions. A large % of the concessions will be self-serve. The hope is that this will significantly speed up the process and alleviate staffing issues.
The focus was on improving the fan experience for everyone — not just the big shots. If attendance sucks after this opens, it’s because we suck. This university is investing heavily in you and your experience. You can thank them by buying season tickets and showing up to games.
I will keep attending as I always do. I will see how these new improvements to fan experience are actually executed before saying that the people in our community suck.
I second the thought that it IS BEAUTIFUL!! I’m interested in what the popular opinion on the board is of the seating capacity dropping by about 10,000 seats to “30,000+”??
Perfect. Could’ve even gone lower but this leaves us room for growth. Plus everyone (aside from club members) being in the lower bowl will hopefully help with atmosphere/crowd noise.

I feel okay with it. I think it can still be a very loud stadium if we pack it. But we have to pack it first lol.
Considering the pressbox is on the East side hopefully we won’t be waiting for that as long as we waited for this. Best case scenario that construction starts as soon as this ends I would think.
That’s what I am hoping for too! Then Cajun Field will be the crown jewel of the SBC. Or at least be on par with the nicest stadiums in the SBC.

Ive been to a few newer stadiums with the 25-30k capacity, like Troy and South Al... I like it! You feel so much closer to the game and if we only get 20-25k per game, it wont look or feel so empty.

There will only be around 25k actual seats, but on paper capacity will be around 30k (accounting for seating on the grass berm.)

How do self serve concessions work? I can’t help imagine lots of vending machines.
