When the umpire believes it necessary to protect player safety yes. Not sure if the rule still exist but there used to be a rule that would allow the starting catcher to reenter the game after an injury as well.

In the situation involving player safety, yes. In this case, the concussion protocol was being executed. Once he passed, he was allowed to re-enter the game.

Unless Miami comes back to tie this and it goes to extra innings, the Cajuns won’t get much extra help from the baseball gods. We’re gonna have to go out there tomorrow and do it ourselves. Both teams playing tonight will be in great shape pitching-wise.
