You don't have to be a smart ass. A lot of folks don't actually know that.

I will modify that some; anybody "can" be a good base runner, but having speed doesn't mean you are a good base runner. Being smart and instictive help make you a good base runner. IMO

Yes but it is easier to coach how to baserun then coach speed (which is impossible). I look at a guy like Jam Williams in the past and others. I think his point was coaching these speedster girls to run the bases would be a good option as a pinchrunner. I know the Cajuns in the past have had girls on the roster who were specifically baserunners/pinch runners. Not that they were recruited here just to do that, but that is what they became, specifically with former coaching staffs, girls like Leandra Maly, Kendall Smith, Megan Thomas, Cassidy White and Jolie Readeaux. Coach Glasco has not utilized this concept like his predecessor, but that is because he has recruited some players that can hit and run at the same time.

Dave, I have to disagree with you on this. Glasco uses pinch runners all the time. He did kick off three kids mid season that ran a lot, so maybe you thought he didn't use them as much.

My Brother Patin, with all the mis-information and speculation on this board, you are fine. Hope you are well?

No, you seem to misunderstand me. I am talking about those players that are specific to baserunning. Glasco has not used those types of players. He does use pinchrunners, but look at the at bats those pinch runner have during the season. For instance Jenna Kean, who was one of those who was kicked off the team, might have been the most used one early in the season but even she had 25 AB's in 22 games. Raina O'neal is a regular starter who pinch ran a little bit and Ari Quinones who has 68 AB's does some.

Frankie Izard did a little but she was still injured and again was one kicked off the team.

I know he uses pinch runners that was not my point.

Speed is way more important in softball than in baseball. In baseball, you can take leads and you can steal off of the pitcher. That is not available in softball.
