LSU hasnt did try to claim "Flagship of the UL System" they are in a different "system"

They are in fact the Flagship of the Louisiana State University System.

They have never tried to claim being the Flagship of the University of Louisiana "System"

They have on the other hand tried to water down the University of Louisiana System.

The Advocate has an on-line article about our R1 status. Still haven't seen anything on The Advertiser. One would think this would be a huge announcement for Lafayette. Hopefully, tomorrow.

The Advertiser will probably post an article about how LSU A&M has been R1 for years, with a cute little graphic on the top right that tells you to turn to page 3 for info on UL’s announcement.

BTW, I think the reason most of us were rooting so hard for this was because we believed that R1 would allow us to move to a better conference. We wanted this so we could get into C-USA, then we wanted it so we could get into the AAC. So I guess what I’m saying is…
