Needless reset (so far) "this" year. Dividends late in the year perhaps

Half point less scoring and 2 rebounds less per 40.

I believe with an added year of maturity and playing in the same system Miller would have been much better than he 'was' then or 'is' now.

Both are hampered in learning a new system.

Current group does not have two players who will either start or be the sixth man next year in Caldwell and Julien. Those two guys may allow the improvement needed on defense and on the boards. Current group does need to get better in those areas with the players they have.

Well the current group isn't good enough period. Adding Kobe back isn't that big a difference. We were awful with him this year. I don't know how much Caldwell will matter. Nobody knows for sure.

Having both those guys healthy we might go from very bad to just barely mediocre. I'm doubting that the freshman replacement for Hardy will be as good in his first year, so that's probably a small step back.

The only thing we can hope for is several players being healthy and therefore an opportunity to be much better.

But really it’s way too early to be talking next year. That clearly is bad news that we are talking next year.

Rebooting a team without a healthy transition is never a good thing.

It's like coming out of a self imposed death penalty.

Kobe was averaging 11 points and 5 rebounds per game which was tops for freshman in the SBC. His floor game was also improving. Caldwell is a similar type player. They will help next year if healthy. You are correct it is a bad thing to be talking about next year before the new year.

Mike you can bring up all the stats you want, but we weren't clearly better with Kobe. At least from the games I saw we were pretty bad.

Hopefully we'll get a healthy Lowery back. I just don't believe that we're very talented, at least so young.

I couldn’t say why we weren’t much better with him than without. I checked the stats. 11 assists, 15 steals, to go with 23 turnovers. Clearly we’d be much better with him if he can get his turnovers under control.

It was canceled because the guy in charge of the promo screwed it up.

Not that we were very good, but there is no doubt we are a better team with A healthy Kobe Julien. Schedule has a part in this but we were 5 and 3 with him and have not won since he got hurt. Some of the good floor plays he made do not show up in stats. I am not saying he is a great player. What I am saying we have no one capable of making the contributions he did. That in itself goes back to recruiting decisions.
