Despite spending the last 10 years in Texas, Montana Patin still considers herself a Louisiana girl. That's what makes the fact she is transferring to UL to play softball that much more special.
Patin, a right fielder from Texas Tech, said she will play as a fifth-year senior in the 2009 season for the Ragin' Cajuns.
The Daily Advertiser reported the news after Patin spoke publicly about the move for the first time late Saturday night.
Patin, a Lake Charles native, grew up in Vinton before her family moved to Houston when she was 12.
