Tough way for a season to end. Football has changed a lot over the past 30 years. What was once a good play is now a penalty. What makes this play go galling is that it has always been a penalty. Some have said the Saints made mistakes to cost them the game, but that can be said for every game ever played. Bottom line, if the play is ruled a penalty there is a 99% chance the Saints win the game. No one is their right mind can dispute that.
I am not a conspiracy guy...this is just two officials who made a huge mistake in a big spot. At the very least they should be docked their game check and be ineligible for postseason duty next year.
I would not have a problem if they are suspended for a year.
I’m sure if you ask any official the referee didn’t cheat it was just a bad day for him. Just like James Semien in Carencro on nov 2nd 2018. Referees never cheat or have routing interest at least that’s what they want you to believe.
