I was kinda thinking this earlier, but I'm apparently the negative nancy of these parts. Anyway, Nunez had an awful game, BUT, if the TE caught the pass going into the endzone, he's fighting for a field goal to tie (actually to lead because we wouldn't have gone for 2) at the end of the game. I'm bummed our defense sucks but this is a whole lotta mess left by hudspeth. We lack athletes on defense period. I do honestly think our DC and crew is doing the best they can with the guys they have, but they just aren't D1 Athletes.

When you play a good defense, your QB has to create windows. I’m sorry to be critical of a particular player, and I usually don’t ever do this, but I’m going to be honest: Nunez has hurt us in 2 big games this year. You can’t can’t underthrow wide open receivers when the defense is pressing all game long. When throws like that occur, the defense loses all respect for the passing game. I love the guys attitude, and he has helped this team win games this year, but today and at App St, we were minus in the QB position. Levi actually posed the bigger matchup problem against Troy and I’m still trying to figure out why he was not given more snaps.

On which they had an attainable FG but instead played for TD.

That's 11 points in a 10 point game.
