So many answers to both. Abraham could answer better than me, but going private has many advantages, IF you can sustain your financial health. (IMO, UL has diversified enough to do that, but I’m not educated enough on the subject to speak on it).

We will need a constant flow of cash, on top of endowment. We’ll have to have scholarships fully funded as well, for all athletic programs. But man... we’d have some freedom.

I see an opening here if the law dictates that 2 universities have to agree to change names at the same time. They change to Northeast Louisiana and we change to Univeristy of Louisiana. Problem solved.

As the saying goes, luck is when preparation and opportunity cross paths. T-Joe seems like a lucky guy.

    This is very true.

And FTR Jeaux, there were several here that proclaimed T-Joe Savoie the Savior of Louisiana Athletics and beyond..

    The future is bright.

Their name was Northeast Louisiana University - NLU. Many of their alumni would like to keep that acronym. So, North Louisiana University - NLU. That is a lot better for them than UL-Monroe or ULM. And, it is a name that a lot of alumni would bye into. They had a lot of success as NLU.

Is TOPS just for public schools? If so, that could be a problem.
