Thread: MBB NIT Final: LOUISIANA 76, LSU 84

Hate to admit it but the better team won tonight. After that punch to the face at the beginning of the game LSU played with poise & confidence of their home floor. Even with a subpar offensive & rebounding performance from Bryce & Marquetti virtually nonexistent on offense, & an unhealthy Gant & we still hang tough till the end is admirable. Bartley, Stove, & Stroman gave it all out on the floor. Justin Miller must improve for next season. Sad fan but proud of our guys. Seen a lot of Cajun basketball in the last 40 years & this team was exciting to watch. We will never again see the days in which mid-majors will get the respect & scheduling opportunities they deserve like we did in our glory years. Such is the nature of the beast we call the NCAA.

I am pretty sure that was John Brady calling us Lafayette. You have to forgive that chip monk he can't read the name across our chest.

____ ___ I am going to use my failproof comment after the atrocity I just witnessed. I will wait until tomorrow to comment. One thing I can say now that I know will not change by tomorrow, ""The biggest monster and source of anger in this matter is the ncaa."

Both my wife and I saw that as well. Rather revolting.

Anyone who doesn’t think coaching was our issue in this game doesn’t know what the ____ they are looking at..

The point is the game SHOULD HAVE BEEN in Lafayette. Our team worked all season to get shafted by seeding in the NIT. If this were a regularly scheduled game in Baton Rouge, sure. You've got a point. But guys like Washington, Bartley, and Stove busted ___ for years, and definitely all season, to be in a position to host LSU or some other major program in the Cajundome, to have that opportunity to play them in a place where you finally have the advantage, and it gets stripped away.

There were issues, I'm not saying this game was totally decided by being in Baton Rouge. Maybe the game is played in Lafayette and LSU still comes out with a 2 or 3 point win. But in a game where one bounce of the ball can decide victory or defeat, every advantage you can get counts, and that we're never in a position to use those advantages despite spending 30+ games this year earning them because the NCAA is inherently slanted to favor power schools with the most financial backing is why we're talking about what we're talking about.
