He's associate head coach too, telling you how much Napier values S&C. This is a very good sign. I'm thinking we won't look fat and out of shape next year.

It’s interesting to have him with the dual title. I see three things coming from that dual assignment. 1) a paycheck argument that allowed us to bring him here, 2) a guy that oversees S&C but will have subordinates taking care of daily business, and 3) a staff role that gives him oversight above other staff members - in particular everything to do with the focus on S&C. If you don’t do what the S&C coach expects of you - you probably sacrifice your position on the depth chart.

I think that’s the first wow hire for the staff. Others have been solid but this is a guy with a great resume. He jumped around recently, but part of that is just circumstances. Kirby Smart bringing in his own guy at Uga then taking an asst s&c spot at FSU before taking a head job at A&M. Now, not retained by another incoming HC in Fisher.

Hocke's salary was $275,000 at A&M. But I'm sure with the cleansing of Sumlin's staff it was reduced to $0. I'm guessing we're not paying that much but something in the $200K range. He's got some work to do.
