The Aggies will have to implode for us to win. They're vulnerable... but Hud is not the kind of coach that seeks out the jugular and cuts it. He taps you. You tap him. He taps you. You tap him. Once he taps you with his guy's taps... and you tap him with your guy's taps... he looks at the scoreboard to see who won. Aggies will tap us harder... even though they're as vulnerable as ever we could hope.

I'm very concerned reading that Hud is going to "try things he thinks the players can do". No, we need to instruct the players into doing things that win the game. We will very likely "Hud it".

Examples

-The 50/50 jump ball is not a play.
- Thinking you are fooling other coaches by taking a QB out, and putting a QB in that has never thrown a pass.
- Placing a 190 DB at LB to take on blocks from lineman.
- No use of the tight end in the passing game.

There is coaching tree out there that has Les Miles at the top, further down you have Houston Nutt, further down you have Mark Hudspeth.

Yep, some thought he had pro potential. IIRC, one of his last games was one we played in Hawaii, something like 2 AM our time. We lost the game but, during a post game interview, one of the Hawaii players said, "who was that tight end? He ran over us like we weren't even there".

I remember him being a stud at Comeaux... and showing up big (literally) at USL. Wasn't it pot that rained on that parade? I'm having fuzzy recollection. Ironically, at the largest university in Louisiana, about 1/3 of the football team are avid pot smokers. And pot is 10x more potent today than it was then.
