I recognize that he's not a one man show, but I'm a little worried he did all his damage against really sub par competition, as local 3A ball hasn't been super strong the last few years. I'm wondering, from those who have seen him play often, do you think he's a solid 1A player, or did he get his yards against weak teams?

Again, it's a question, and I'm in no way trying to bash the kid. I hope he finishes with the all time Cajun rushing record. I'm just a little skeptical at this point.
I watched him a few times him he reminds me a lot of Montrel Carter and most likely will play the same role

I can see y'all aren't seeing things the way I am.

    Let me rephrase.

If this team DOESN'T revolve around the passing game for success early on, this season will go nowhere.

RB by committee only works when your passing game is on point.

And, it will be RB by committee until a leader emerges there.

If we come out of the gate in full "Hudspeth bang your head against a wall offense", this season and Hudspeth's tenure here is over.

In order for Hud to get to seven wins, he will need to defeat at least one of these three on the road; South Alabama, Arkansas State or App. State. We are not going to win any out of conference games accept SELU. To get to eight wins, he will need to win two out of those three road games and sweep at home.

App St is taking a step back this year. We will win at Tulsa. Ark St is a toss up, but they owe us and will be gunning for us. No reason to loose to South Al. The rest of the schedule will play out how we think it should.

In order to accomplish that goal, you must defeat teams with better staffs and recruited better than you. Possible, but not likely.

Ditto that ? I have the same concerns about him.

I never saw him play in person but saw his coach on an interview compare him to Leonard fornette. Is he a big bruiser type?

He is a weight room legend at Erath.

I think he may be in the summer program on campus working weights.

    Your question is fine.

It's like this. Erath is a 3A school. It is one of the smaller 3A schools. For the time that Mitchell was there, it had a 1A offensive line in talent. Catholic High had at least a 4A defensive line in talent.

It's not that Mitchell only dominated weaker teams. He dominated everybody, except the 1 or 2 schools that absolutely dominated Erath's OL.

Heck, McGuire was shut down several times due to Louisiana's sorry OL. I certainly don't think any less of him because of that.
