Thread: Hoops He Does It Again

  1. Default Hoops He Does It Again

The maturation process of UL freshman guard Elfrid Payton hit fast-forward once again in Thursday night's 72-71 overtime victory over the Denver Pioneers.

Nice article by Foote. Glad to see him contributing to UL games.

For those of you who haven't yet made it out to the Dome, you need to go before the end of he season to say you saw Elfred when he was just a 17 year old freshman. This young man is going to be very special over the next 3 years. Some of what I see reminds me of a star that played in the mid-70s in Blackham.

    Elfred will be special.

He will be. And that dunk he got was great. He really got up there. I was surprised how high he got for being 6-3.

Looked like Raymone gave him a little vote of confidence before the shot with a quick hand slap!!! Think the kids like him----I call him EP cause I can never get his name straight ---Thought it was Palin one time!!!!

Student section started an Elfrid chant after the game for him to lead the singing of the fight song. Raymone had to push him to the front to start it. Really humble guy, didn't want the spotlight.

I can't recall...but right now I would like to have that final possession in either his hands or Josh Brown's. They may not score every time to win it, but they provide our best chances.
