So before I go to _____ing to much I'll wait and see what it all looks like once some of the SE Louisiana issues start to be relieved.
Absolutely right. Since we weren't really affected we seem to lose sight of our needy friends to the east. Excellent observation.

Fiber over satellite/lte all day every day.

    GDS can help with that.

I’ve never had good experiences with them. Offshore and inland

The problem is not fiber or anything else. All of the major carriers have towers in the area that provide service to Cajun Field. The issue is bandwidth and simultaneous users.

My suggestion would be to use the light poles as a small cell that would provide service back to a Hub Site for service. It would allow more users and more bandwidth. By using the light poles at Cajun Field you would be able to provide service to all of UL's athletic venues.

An example of this on a larger scale would be at Texas A&M, we installed over 100 small cells to provide coverage at their football games. Now it is not cheap, but it is effective.

If their POS systems are relying on cellular networks, then that is the issue. I don't see why every concession stand area does not have a dedicated fiber ONT + private WiFi access point (via Ubiquiti device). The cost of getting Cox/LUS to do that in a week would probably pay for itself during one game.

Then you could bring in third party food vendors and allow them to join to that private WiFi network as well.

Yes, let's remember that a lot of these food/staff shortages are due to covid and the storm. I also had not thought about Ida and it's impact on the cell issue, which I am sure played a big part of our issues.

Yeah, I am not sure how their POS is working. I was responding more to the cell service. I agree, they should be on a private network, and that is a straightforward fix.

Not exactly. Cuba and Venezuela have had food shortages for years with no covid or storms. Our food shortages are being created by the socialist style of government we have elected in the US. Yes the want you to believe it was caused by covid when in fact it was caused by government.

Not sure what they can do about that in four days but that will be a pointed focus now.
Upstairs had one concession open selling everything. 90% of people just wanted beer and water. Not having a separate drink vendor was a killer. There were no signs with items or prices, so people were having to look at the counter once they finally got there taking up even more time. If he thinks this was just a bandwidth issue, he is missing some glaring problems that are easily fixed.

AT&T has a mono pine behind the Cajundome. Doesn’t help when 25k show up. Would small cell installs be able to get the job done?

So, bad food and no beer cups were the fault of the internet coverage at CF? C'Mon man...
