Thread: New saints DC?

    Default New saints DC?

Greg Williams' is up this year. Do you think he should be retained? I think tonight showed that his defense was suspect this year, I think the offense has carried his defense through many games.

Can't say you are wrong about DC Williams, I am not that educated about football. I do believe however someone needs to get better defensive scouts. We have precious few top line players from our first and second draft picks.

That run of Smith was a brillent call, and the passes, the long looping passes, oh wait those were to backs who broke free. Opps. Not improper defense improper tackling.

Blame Sproles, Roby, Brees for some pretty weak tunrovers. The 49's got what 16 points on those. You cannot blame the defense without giving a little hate to the offense and special teams.

I understand. But the offense scored 32 points on the road. Also, Will Smith, Sedrick Ellis, Jon Vilma, Malcm Jenkins, Ran Harper, Patrick Robinson. And I believe Tracy Porter were all 1 or 2nd rd picks

Peter King has already predicted Greg Williams to follow Jeff Fisher. Might be a good thing for the Saints.

    I hope King is right.

Williams is going to STL with Fisher. Saints D played well enough to win. San Fran made the stupid crazy plays when needed.

Saints D played decent in first half. Choked in crunch time. Twice. Saints D has been a joke all year

_ *ck GW prevent defense after attacking all 2nd half on the last drive. Get rid of him are let him geaux to rams. I would welcome Rahim Morris as our DCord!!!!

Oops improper tackling... Yea i agree.. Thats basic fundamentals which the saints haven't had this year, because Greg Williams is so wraped in scheme. His scheme is blitz, blitz, blitz (90% of the time) and if it doesnt work then blitz more... No adjustments.. Minimal coverage scheme... Minimal audible... The scheme might work with corners like Revis and a safety who has speed, but we dont have them cause the saints focused mainly on offense in the past few drafts... The offense is great and where it needs to be, but as todays game shows the defense is suffering. Hire someone like Del Rio and hit the draft and free agency hard for skilled defensive players... Move players to proper positions, harper would be a probowl OLB if he would move

He wasn't in the prevent. He was blitzing w man coverage. That's why Davis got behind us
