While it's a very disappointing end to a great season, I'm proud of the way the Saints played this year. I'm also proud of the way they came back & fought their behinds off to take the lead twice in the fourth quarter of this game. It was a great game & except for a couple of ball handling mistakes, the offense & defense both played a great game. I tip my hat to the 49ers for responding in the clutch & making a few great plays that made the difference for them in the game. The way I see it, the team who got the ball last with any decent amount of time on the clock, got to win. Unfortunately it wasn't the Saints.

I think to see this in any other fashion besides this, is a showing of lack of respect for one of the greatest players to ever play the game of football & certainly the greatest saint ever. Drew Brees is a true champion & the team he leads sets an example we should all wish to follow or live UP to.

Great players win games on the road in the playoffs.

But...great players win on the road in the playoffs. You were posting because the hamster on the wheel in your head was making too much noise.

The sad thing is the Saints pretty much concentrated on defense the past few drafts:

2011: 1st round: Cameron Jordan, DE (along with RB Mark Ingram)
2010: 1st round: Patrick Robinson, CB
2009: 1st round: Malcolm Jenkins, FS
2008: 1st round: Sedrick Ellis, NT

    Draft (defense/ total picks)
    2011: 4/6
    2010: 1/5
    2009: 2/4
    2008: 3/6
    2007: 1/7
    2006: 2/8
The offensive picks have been great and productive, but the game last night showed us that we need to focus on defensive secondary and OLB. The GW style of offense is to blitz and leave corners on an island, which wouldn't be bad if we had CB like Revis, but we dont. The CB we have now are good, but need help over the top. The "over the top help" that we have is Harper, who has breakaway linebacker speed( 4.7 - 40) but not good enough for safety. Move harper to OLB and go after a fast safety and cover corners in the draft.
1)Resign Brees to his contract, pay him his money, if its not done already.
2)Go after Del Rio or whomever is the best canidate for DC after GW leaves for the rams.
    3) Evaluate defensive players on roster and how they will work in new scheme.
    4) Hit the draft hard for defensive secondary and depth all around
    5) Win the Super Bowl in NOLA 2013!!!
