Thread: A Ragin Opinion ( 2006-02-17 )

  1. UL Football A Ragin Opinion ( 2006-02-17 )

I realized something very important while I was watching the Super Bowl a couple of weeks ago.

Of course, the game was not interesting at all. I’m a huge sports fan, and even I found myself looking forward to the commercial breaks.

Then, late in the game, Ike Taylor made a game-saving interception that pretty much sealed the victory for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Yes, that Ike Taylor. The same Ike Taylor who played for the Cajuns a few short years ago. And now, he single-handedly affected the outcome of the biggest football game of the year.

But, more than anything, Ike’s play made me start thinking. He’s not the only former Cajun to have success in his respective sport.

    The rest of the story

I finally got to see the Super Bowl on replay in Singapore. In the introductions I was a little upset with Ike Taylor saying "New Orleans" instead of University of Louisiana as all the other players named their college or university they had played at. Does anyone know the reason behind this?

I don't know if this is accurate or not but I heard it was to promote Katrina Recovery Pride.
