Interesting quote from Marlin:

Freshman backup point guard Elfrid Payton, the subject of a newspaper feature story whose headline Thursday referenced the 17-year-old as "already a star" for the Cajuns, misfired on a pass intended for Thomas.

"The 'star,' " Marlin said, "throws one cross-court that gets intercepted."

Antoine Lundy picked off the Payton pass near midcourt and slammed it home himself on the other end.

Very concerning quote from JB:

Brown and Thomas both cited poor team practices this week, with Thomas saying "energy level was just down."

Both addressed at length, as well, trouble breaking South Alabama's press.

"That's all we went over in practice," Brown said, "was the press."




From the way last night's game looked, it seemed like they never saw a press in their life.
