Well JP, you probably remember this; did Ron Hudson (former UL OC) become the OL Coach at NM or NMSU? I assume it was at NM ... I forgot Bob Davies has taken over as HC.

It may be hard for Kevin to turn down this job; good staff but it means leaving home ... again.

Hudson was at UNM (and is still looking where he'll be in 2012). Davie is still finalizing his coaching staff right now. Would be tough for Fou to leave home - especially with his son playing in town. Big plus would be getting at least three or four years with a quality staff. Still waiting to hear back from Fou now to see what's going on.

Thanks for the info. I hope it works out for Ron (and I only looked on their website to see current coaches; most are listed as TBD but hope he does retain his job) ... he was one of the coaches that actually left one situation for one that was worse off. You have to figure Bob Davies will bring some level of respectability to their team.

Getting out or staying in coaching is a toughie--Got to think of the money, the venue, the security, the staff members, the spouse's employment, the outside coaching job and its likeability-----oh did I mention family?????

As of a few months ago, Coach Fouqier was working as an oil field salesman. I ran into him once and he mentioned he was doing better financially than when we was in coaching. He may have the coaching bug to a point that he just can't resist getting back into it however.

I saw him in our office last week. So as of then, he's still in sales.

Coach Fou's wife, IIRC, is from El Paso. Albuquerque is much closer to her folks than Lafayette.

Hahahaha!! Someone befuddled Boomer with Internet slang! We have the same (WTF???) reaction to your "Boomer-ese". This is funny!

IIRC = If I remember correctly

    From Monday's FootballScoop.com . . .

New Mexico: We learned this morning that Kevin Fouquier has turned down Bob Davie's offer to coach the defensive line and instead we hear he will remain in Lafayette, LA where his son has committed to play for Hud at UL.
