Cajuns need to be on Sirius Satellite Radio?

Does anybody out there know what it takes to get the Cajuns or the Sun Belt Conference to broadcast games on Sirius Satellite radio? I have been enjoying listening to different sporting events since I got my Sirius radio at Christmas. To my knowledge the Sun Belt and therefore the Cajuns are not associated with Sirius even tho the RaginCajun.com website advertises Sirius Radio. When I can't attend the Cajun's baseball games I have to listen to the game on the Internet (which I am thankful for) but it sure would be GREAT to be able to pick up ALL the games on the radio! We live in the pine hills of the Felicianas and are way out of range of Jay Walker. Any ideas or input out there would be greatly appreciated. If LSU and the SEC is on Sirius, then why not LOUISIANA too!?

Same boat here, the banner suckered me into subscribing, I came to find out that UL got $40 for me signing up and I got crystal clear radio but no UL games. I don't know what it would take I never got an answer from the athletic office.

I know it's ALWAYS about the money, but what better way to promote UL and its athletics then to have a far reaching influence on the populous by using today's technology and broadcasting on Satellite radio. Someone with the influence and power with the University and Athletics should really get on board with this!

Our home games are not on Sirius because we don't have the equipment that Sirius requires. The SBC set this up but won't pay for the equipment and the school doesn't have the budget for it.

We've had a couple of road games on Sirius and our games at the Conference tournament, I believe, will be on as well.

I think it's about 3500.00.

Now here's my question......for the 2-3 games we'd get, is it worth it?

I can think of a lot better ways to spend that money.

Why only 2 to 3 games? I thought you said that we could get all of the home games if we had the equipment (not arguing, just what I thought you said) If we could get all of the home games on Sirius, which I think is about 30 games, then I would say that yes, $3,500.00 is worth it. If it is indeed only 2 to 3 games, then I agree that the money could be better used elsewhere.

Right now Sirius is only offering a game of the week for the Sun Belt. With 11 teams in the league, no one is getting a lot of exposure.

Thanks for all the info. At only $12 or so a month to subscribe to Sirius, I would think if the majority of the fans of the respective Sun Belt universities were willing to pay for this service, you are talking about a considerable amount of money that Sirius stands to make. Although I am still not sure of the inner-workings of how this comes about, I would think the Sun Belt Conference in conjunction with its member schools could work together toward making this a reality. In the world of recruiting both students and student/athletes, exposure is everything - and fans like myself, the universities and the students and athletes are the beneficiaries.
