Thread: MBB UL vs. FAU

  1. Default Re: Today's Game vs. FAU

What needs to happen is for everybody to be commenting on the positive things that Jay mentioned---But there is nothing wrong with people seeing legitimate problems and pointing them out to other people----While we are at it---Is there a box score in the DA of the games --looked in a hurry but couldn't find!!!!

Anyone want to talk about the defensive job Raymone Andrews did yesterday? How about the 14-0 punch in the mouth to start the game? How about the nine blocked shots in the second half? Anyone want to talk about holding FAU to under 40 percent shooting and taking them out of their three point game? Anyone notice four guys in double figures?

    Bueller?

    Bueller?
Thanks Jay. Reading other threads this morning I thought this fan base needs to transition to a winners mentality. I'm not saying there isn't place for realistic constructive criticism, but the petty stuff ought to go away.

Guys, last night was the 3rd game this year where the refs had to literally blow their whistle and stop the game because they couldn't wipe the floor.

It's an issue. This is not middle school basketball.

Of course its not so stop bringing up middle school issues, no one above the 6th grade can be a ball boy , its a rule, yea the job should get done quicker i agree, but half these kids are chosing by the staff and players, as a kid its a honor to sit courtside and be apart of the games, i was fortunate enough to do it as a 6 and 7 year old also, But like i said earlier give bob marlin a call and tell him u dont want his step daughter doing it or call raymone andrews and tell him how u feel about his brother doing it, see what reaction u get but lets get back to the Important topic at hand, how bout 1-0 in conference and holding raymond taylor to 4 points

Duggie no offense but you spend a lot of time watching the ball boys??? Now how about you get them properly equipped with the top of the line floor cleaning mops with the pretty little circle mops with Cajuns logos on them. I tell you this the kids from an officials point the kids are not allowed to just run on the floor and while up spots unless the officials call them out on the floor. The wet spot you are referring to was one the officials noticed away from play and blew the whistle. Really if that is where you focused yesterday you missed a great game. Raymone held the preseason 1st team point guard for FAU to 4pts and fouled him out with no assists while he had 10 pts, 3 assists and no TO. We had 4 players score double digits and played hard core defense! Also in defense of your argument we need to get those kids out of those court side seats so a 250 pound player don't run into them and hurt them. I can bet those ball kids can avoid the contact on a small baseline a lot easier than those in those seats. Just saying!!!!

Anyway way to go Cajuns- take the home show on the road to WKU and MT!!

How can I not pay attention to them when the game is stopped so they can do their job?

As far as the injury thing, I read that as till a player gets hurt. Because you of all people should understand that. Raymone slipped a couple of games ago AFTER the ref told the kids to wipe the floor and they didn't. And of course, ref had to stop game.

Anyway, your son played well last night. Congrats!

Cajun22's son played better! You have to understand that sweat happens. Kids cannot just go on the floor even if they are 17 year old ball boys. Refs have to stop play for them to enter. So stopping plays really not an issue. I have referred and watched my share of middle, high school, AAU, college and pro games and you spend waaaaay too much time focusing on wiping the floor. Oh and as far as Mone goes he needs to stop falling on the floor and getting it all wet so the ball boys don't have to wipe it up! Lmao.

To change subjects, the report on Coleby was that he wasn't a great rebounder for his size. I think last night showed that he has improved tremendously. He came up with some big rebounds in the 2nd half. That guy is also like a hawk in the paint on defense.
