I can confirm from a reliable source that Coach Hud did indeed have red underwear on. And according to the Royal and Ancient Laws of Pinching on St. Patrick's Day (which also apply in school spirit cases) "underwear may be used to fulfill your color wearing obligations even if it is not outwardly visible to others."
