Rickey Bustle and the University of Louisiana football coaching staff will take care of their biggest personnel shortcoming today.
When the faxes start arriving shortly after 8 a.m. and as many as 22 recruits begin transmitting their national letters of intent to UL, it'll be a beefy crowd.
"It's kind of like that old lady on TV that pulled the bun apart and said 'where's the beef,'" Bustle said Tuesday. "This class will be the beef."
Even the late Clara Peller (the original Wendy's "Where's the Beef" spokesman) would be impressed with a Ragin' Cajun signee group that will likely include 11 linemen. Bustle said that he's expecting seven defensive linemen and four offensive linemen to cast their lot with UL today.
"That's exactly what we were shooting for," Bustle said. "Our biggest need was linemen on both sides with defensive line a priority. We weren't going to take a tailback, a quarterback or a tight end, so the other positions will fill up the rest of them. But it's a big group."
