Boycott Walmart Jerry, I'm sure they'll be devastated. It oughta put a huge dent in their sales.

I too frequent Champagne's, the opening week of football season they put a giant A&M BR display at the front door. I asked to speak to the manager about the issue. She told me that the florist put up the display and they had received numerous complaints and nasty emails about the display. The next day I went in and the display was a UL display. I guess the moral to the story is if you complain they will usually take action.
Clearly you do not know what Walmart corperate thinking is. They want every single customer to want to be in that store. If Blantonville knew a manager was ticking off 20 or 30 thousand people in an area simply by using some bad letters, and failure to represent that school with appropriate merchandise it would be time for a training session. These managers have a lot of freedom to market what works in their area.
Five thousand peole spending a hundred bucks a week at WalMart constitues 2.5 million in sales in a year. No store wants that kind of negitive revenue, or customer anger even if they do sell a couple of hundred million a year.
Agreed!!!!! not a damn penny of mine they will get!!!!!!! Not right to slap us on the mother turf!!!!!!
I dont think Albertsons should get a pass. If we continue to give businesses a pass they will continue to disrespect us. If the manager is not aware of the branding the university prefers at the store about a mile from campus, why is he the manager?
One store I am impressed with in Lafayette is Rouses. I've been to the Bertrand store several times and have seen nothing but red. One of the only stores in this town that will not give any support to that ____ ___ purple and....I can't even finish that sentence!
Continue to support those stores who give money back and give public support to The University of Louisiana!
"Boycott" isn't the right action. They won't ever know it happened. The worst combination would be to both avoid buying the UL merchandize they sell AND not let them know why. They will simply see that no one wants UL merchandize and stop promoting any of it.
The managers at these establishments... along with corporate marketing people... are who you should address, respectfully, in person or by letter or email. Respect will get you way further than disrespect.
Personally, I believe we should come up with lists of establishments in Lafayette that do the most for UL. Giving those businesses an exceptional amount of support and letting it be known why they are so supported is the greatest campaign for Lafayette-based UL support. Negative campaigning while trying to make new friends is a slippery slope.
