There were some wearing USL Bulldogs shirts. Regardless... I personally still like pushing UL. I think the opposition is going to run out of supporters before we do. However, I don't think "boycotting" is the answer.

Inform store managers and marketing staff of our preferences. Support businesses that support UL.

I know you probably don't mind the USL gear yourself and you were just making a point, but I think it's pretty cool. I like throw-back stuff. I have a USL flag that looks pretty nifty hanging on my wall in my room and I want a throwback Cajuns helmet for a display.

So if anyone knows where I can get one, hook a brother up.

Moss Motors is one of the most egregious offenders. I still remember seeing their Cotton Bowl commercials from last year. If I was so inclined...I would take a can of red spray paint and right "move to Baton Rouge" on every car on the lot. Sweep the leg...no mercy.

At first, the use of USL stuff probably wasn't good because it both confused the new name push and it was used by people disrespecting us. But, I think we are entering the time that "USL" throwback stuff is actually pretty cool.

As for what Mike was saying... how would we differentiate those that are using U L L out of ignorance from those that are trying to capitalize or those that are being intentionally disrespectful? I can tell when I'm standing in front of them. A friend of mine's wife is a UL (USL) graduate. She has no clue or care about the naming issue and background. She still likes calling us "USL". She's stubborn as a rock, but also very sweet.

That's not the point. The point is, if they want my business they will get it right. If you're satisfied buying a shirt from a business who will disrespect our school by calling it "ULL" then by all means, do so. But until the attitude is changed in this city and we stop catering to these businesses who can't seem to get it right, we'll continue to climb this hill.

Careful pal. The "house united" crowd on this board is all set to brand you as "creepy" or a "revolutionary" for these sorts of sentiments. Tamp down that Cajun pride, and go with the flow. Know your place.

If everyone used your criteria you would have to boycott the university itself.
You cant walk 50 feet on campus without seeing the name ULL somewhere on the on the campus.

For anyone to question the good that Rouses does for UL is downright insane!

For you do do it correctly you would have to grow your own garden to eat. Although I have not checked with the garden store to see if they have an LSU or ULL poster on there wall somewhere. I hope for you they dont otherwise you would starve.
OH yes, you need a tractor plow the garden. I saw a guy at lowes with an LSU hat on one time so you are out of luck there to.

especially true if the media in the area they are located in use that reference. Politely educating them usually takes care of the
issue.

I am with you CM, one of our most loyal alum uses the double L's. He knows better, but has just gotten use to using it, and I sure will not say too much to him because he has done more for this university than almost anyone I know.

But a business in the City of Lafayette that is clueless about how it upsets thousands of their customers is a business I might want to let know why I am not going to use them. Now with a chain that can be store specific. With chains I submit it would be a good idea to gather several hundred of our friends, and get in touch with their marketing department to let them know we take it personal.

UL families, alums, and students work in those stores mentioned to be boycotted.

Does not make sense to turn on your own people because their employers also support another Louisiana school.
