    Former cajun linebacker and deep snapper Kasey Kramer, from New Iberia played football for the Cajuns in 1990 through 1993. Kasey was in an accident in Duson recently. He was my room mate at UL. Kasey will be missed.

    I saw that in the obituaries but didn't see how he passed. I remember him as he was leaving as I was getting to UL in the 90's and he was friends with some of my buds. Sorry to hear about him.

    Im not sure of any funeral arrangements, I havent been in contact with his family in years. I will keep an eye out for funeral announcements.

    Kasey Troy Kramer

    NEW IBERIA - Funeral Services will be conducted for Kasey Troy Kramer, age 39, at 10:00 am Friday December 23, 2011 at Evangeline Funeral Home with Fr. Steve LeBlanc officiating. Interment will be held at Holy Family Mausoleum with military honors by LA Army National Guard Military Funeral Honors Team.

    Visitation will be held from 8:00 am until service time on Friday.

    A native and resident of New Iberia, Kasey passed away at 1:29 am on Wednesday December 21, 2011.

    Kasey was a US Army/Airborne veteran where he served as a US Army Paratrooper for 3½ years. He was stationed in Fort Sill for Basic Training, then in Fort Bliss and Fort Benning before being transferred to Germany.

    A 1990 graduate of NISH, Kasey then attended USL and played football there for four years. He loved football and was an avid Ragin' Cajun football fan. After graduating from USL he then attended LA Tech and received a degree in nursing and practiced as a registered nurse for many years.

    Kasey is survived by his daughter, Kennadi Ann Kramer and her mother Stephanie Chambers of New Iberia; parents, Kent Sr. and Billie Sue Kramer of New Iberia; brothers, Kent Kramer, Jr. and wife Debi of New Iberia; sister, Karen K. Chalmers and husband Russell of New Iberia; nieces and nephews, Kent Kramer, III, Kaleb Kramer, Amelie Kramer, Lexxi Broussard, Bobby Broussard, and Ashley Chalmers.

    He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

    Pallbearers will be Kent Kramer, Jr., Kent Kramer, III, Kaleb Kramer, Russel Chalmers, Bryan Broussard, Seth Porche, and Bobby Broussard.

    recruited Kasey as a walk on. Was a ferocious competitor and earned a scholarship during his years as a LB for the Cajuns. Knew his sister, Karen, for a few years before meeting Kasey. Some of you older guys may remember her as the sportscaster for KATC in the late 1980s. Kaseys mom and dad were a class act as was the whole family.....he will be sorely missed. Evangeline Funeral Home in New Iberia handled the arrangements and some of you former team mates may want to post on the online guestbook. I know that his family would very much appreciate it.
