Louisiana Named Best State for Filmmakers
P3 Update, a magazine for film industry-insiders, ranked Louisiana as the best state in the country for movie production. The magazine compiles the list once a year based on factors including: tax incentives, crew base, talent pool, infrastructure and popularity among filmmakers.
"In reality, I think that we have an opportunity to redefine what Hollywood is," said Daniel Lewis, with Active Entertainment. Lewis wrapped up shooting the sci-fi movie "Arachnoquake" in Lafayette Wednesday.
Lewis was not surprised by the news, and says Louisiana offers something Hollywood can't touch.
"Everybody that's worked with us wants to come back because of the people, the food, the culture."
