I seem to think he was making a joke because Bush never ran north/south. Thats what I got out of it.
I'm pretty sure his point was that there is more to being a good LB than just speed as evident of the Bush joke. However, maybe he didn't know that Qyen was widely considered a better LB than he was RB in high school and was moved to RB his senior year out of necessity. I like him at RB too as I saw some good things from him this year but if he's that good at LB, I'm fine with the move.
I like him at Linebacker as well but I don't recall a whole lot of fumbling out of Qyen. I think he had one but did he have an issue with that this year? I don't think that had anything to do with the move anyhow as it had more to do with his abilities to play LB and give us some speed and depth there in the future. I wonder if we will keep Jackson there as well or possibly move him back to RB.
One things for sure: This coaching staff believes that these are all football players (or, as they call them on the recruiting trail: "athletes") , and they will put their football players in the best position to make plays. I've never seen a coaching staff that's more creative with the way they use their players and less inclined to lock up a player into a single position in all my life. The way he's used people like McGuire, Griffin, Kelly, and others makes me really excited about what's to come for Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns.
