Thread: Griffin's move to LB

  1. #1

    Default Griffin's move to LB

Anyone got an inside on the reasons?

    Some reasons seem obvious:

    1) All defenses (always) need more big-time athletes at LB.
    2) Harris has played so well.

    Anything else?

3)Griffin played LB more in HS and was considered a better prospect at LB.
4)Our defense requires more LBs than something like a 4-3 Defense. In this defense, LBs who have speed are more valuable than LBs with size.

i think harris and griffen are the same style of backs, basically in a 2 back system they would get the same carries and you would still have a change of pace back.
griffen was also a stud LB in high school,

We need linebackers who can go sideline to sideline, who have the speed to make plays. Griffin fits that mold.

Sooo what you're saying is that Reggie bush should have put on about 25 pounds and switched to LB? He was king at sideline to sideline!

    BIG PROPS to Griffin

He gave my son (6yrs old) his gloves after the New Orleans bowl. He wore them all that night and woke up the next morning at the hotel and put them on, lol.

His hit on the fullback in the bowl game shows that this dude can get into position and lay some wood. I like the move

He is a fast big linebacker in the 220 to 230 range. He will be a star.

Reggie Bush didn't play 3 years of LB in high school. And Reggie cant hit like Qyen.

And Qyen can't run the ball like Reggie.

This is about the worst analogy I have ever seen.

I seem to think he was making a joke because Bush never ran north/south. Thats what I got out of it.

I'm pretty sure his point was that there is more to being a good LB than just speed as evident of the Bush joke. However, maybe he didn't know that Qyen was widely considered a better LB than he was RB in high school and was moved to RB his senior year out of necessity. I like him at RB too as I saw some good things from him this year but if he's that good at LB, I'm fine with the move.
