Disappointing that FIU lost. I was hoping for the Sun Belt to be 2-0 now in this year's bowls. They had a real good chance to win this game but stumbled at the end, giving up a couple of turnovers in the latter part of the 4th quarter. Too bad...
Agree. I also wanted the win for the perception of the conference. That game was brutal to watch. In fact, with the game tied and after several negative comments by my wife we switched to other shows and then I tuned back in for the last 5 minutes or so where most of the action took place. That 4th down fake for the TD by Marshall was a he'll of a call. I don't think anyone watching was expecting that. FIU sure wasn't.
And while FIU may have the rep as mini-thug u, that fight at the end was instigated by Marshall. They continued to drive the receiver back after the play was over and when the FIU player came to help his team mate the Marshall player flew into him, drove him to the ground and then threw a punch. Totally uncalled for.
I was hoping that FIU would have won, but this game was boring to me. I actually fell asleep and woke up right after the last TD. Ther was no crowd to speak of. Marshal's fans were louder and did anyone else notice that when it would get loud, it would echo? It didn't sound right.
The ESPN article on the game talks about Cristobal possibly going to Pittsburgh....

I checked out and hit the sack as soon as TY "Paris" Hilton fumbled the ball because he was holding it like a loaf of bread. That was a pretty hard game to watch. Lost one on my bowl pool. Unhappy...and it's all FIU's fault.
ESPN has attendance listed at 20,072
