Thread: Beef O'Brady Bowl....

  1. Default Re: Beef O'Brady Bowl....

T---There is something that happened Saturday ----Louisiana TVs were tuned into the RAGIN' CAJUNS------Yes the entire state was watching and you can tell it from telephone calls, posts on the Net, and even word of mouth----Louisiana LOVES college football and we are probably the 2nd best game in town------I bet we had more TV watching in Louisiana than they had in Florida for the FIU game tonight----Well maybe not--tell me if I am wrong---But your term of "Presence in the market " hits it on the head!!!

. I wanted them to win because it makes our win against them more meaningful. Interesting stat from earlier in the game was the poor 2011 standings of the Florida FBS schools. The high school talent pool is deep over there, but it is also finite.

Couldn't agree more. Potential viewers are not viewers, and in places like DFW and Miami, they don't become viewers just because you won some games.

    Good case in point, T!

Disappointing that FIU lost. I was hoping for the Sun Belt to be 2-0 now in this year's bowls. They had a real good chance to win this game but stumbled at the end, giving up a couple of turnovers in the latter part of the 4th quarter. Too bad...

Agree. I also wanted the win for the perception of the conference. That game was brutal to watch. In fact, with the game tied and after several negative comments by my wife we switched to other shows and then I tuned back in for the last 5 minutes or so where most of the action took place. That 4th down fake for the TD by Marshall was a he'll of a call. I don't think anyone watching was expecting that. FIU sure wasn't.

And while FIU may have the rep as mini-thug u, that fight at the end was instigated by Marshall. They continued to drive the receiver back after the play was over and when the FIU player came to help his team mate the Marshall player flew into him, drove him to the ground and then threw a punch. Totally uncalled for.

I was hoping that FIU would have won, but this game was boring to me. I actually fell asleep and woke up right after the last TD. Ther was no crowd to speak of. Marshal's fans were louder and did anyone else notice that when it would get loud, it would echo? It didn't sound right.

You are not the only one that fell asleep trying to watch this game!

The ESPN article on the game talks about Cristobal possibly going to Pittsburgh....

I checked out and hit the sack as soon as TY "Paris" Hilton fumbled the ball because he was holding it like a loaf of bread. That was a pretty hard game to watch. Lost one on my bowl pool. Unhappy...and it's all FIU's fault.
