C-Mack.
Best defensive player in history of school.
Todd Hill
Sometimes got ridiculous hang time due to 6'9", bus length wingspan, 100 lb frame sometimes being caught in Cajundome air conditioning up draft.
Seeing that graphic only reminds me that we should have made it to the Sweet 16 had we played well against New Mexico State.
Boudreaux had come from a JC. He started slow but got in shape over the Christmas break. Cajun coaches pushed the guys really hard during those few days. When they won the conference opener in a blowout at Jacksonville, it was obvious something had changed. Jay Walker has a good recap of that entire season on the Sports Radio ESPN 1420 website. Regarding Cedric Mackeyon, he was a very good defensive player and was one of the reasons the Cajuns improved over the previous season. However, I do not think he was at the level of Elfrid Payton. Elfrid was the NATIONAL defensive player of the year his junior season (last year here). CMack did hit two critical free throws in the SBC tournament final against La Tech that year. I remember holding my breath in Biloxi that night when he went to the stripe as his FT % was in the mid 60's. He was tough as nails though as both hit nothing but net.
I remember when Todd Hill did a 360 dunk in the Cajundome. It was a full in-the-air 360 degree spin and throw down. He was such a blast to watch. It may have not been what the coach wanted him to do... but it was a clean break-away with no one chasing him... we were well up... and he did it for the fans.
And, if you were around, you still remember the feeling
Good times
