Anybody have an update on the NO Bowl and where it stands with the others in the game attendance???

  3. Default Re: 2011-12 Bowl Attendance watch

The average attendance so far is 48,465

The New Orleans Bowl beat the average of the 23 bowls that were not in the top-6.

I'd say, regardless of total attendance in ANY bowl, that we brought more fans to our bowl than any other bowl team this season, not including lsua&mcbr, and even that will be very close.

The best way to look at the numbers is by looking at bowl average attendance this year. While all bowl average attendance is down 3% & BCS bowl average attendance is down ovewr 4%, New Orleans bowl attendance is up over 33% from it's previous high of all time.

Interesting information. Does put into light just how much was accomplished on Dec 17.

BCS title game won't have any issue selling out and then some for game on Jan 9. This may make up a little ground here. Also hope Ark State travels with large support Jan 8. They failed to do so in key home games this year.

Again don't forget to factor in that the 17th was the start of the second split and according to ASU thought it kept thousands away from the NO Bowl!!!! Actually it did hurt our attendance!!!! The amount of business and social plans already made were enormous!!!!!

I don't see ASU impressing anyone attendance-wise on Jan. 8th.
