Thread: 2011 New Orleans Bowl: LOUISIANA (32) SDSU (30)

Chevron and Texaco merged in 2002 and has continued to maintain offices in both the Lafayette and New Orleans area since then. Texaco and the state had settled their lawsuits prior to then. It is unknown what they would have done in Louisiana had the merger not occurred.

It won't matter if toolame is 7-0 going into that game. There STILL won't be more than a few hundred of 'em.

I think that we made enough new fans this season, and particularly this off season, to think that we'll be pushing the attendance numbers even higher come next football season. We just need to keep the intensity up as a fan base and continue to build the hype.

Louisiana has been a sore spot for many big oil companies since the precedent was set that they could be sued before actually having proof they contaminated ground water.

The reason I am not sure about setting a new record has nothing to do with the popularity of the program. I thought I heard that when one of the later games this year sold out and they actually quit selling tickets instead of selling over SRO tickets like they did when Southern came to town. I was thinking it could have been related to fire codes, but I was only guessing.

Can anyone confirm or deny this?

I think they had moved a number of their NO personnel to Covington.

I would like one also and was wondering the same thing last night. I would think it would be through the advertiser??? We need to know.

Default My favorite part of the New Orleans bowl

We all had the night we had all dreamed of. Everyone will know right where they were as the ball sailed through the upright, and the cajuns finally were bowl champions. We'll never forget Gautiers 3x record breaking night (most pass yards in a season, most pass TDs in a season, and most offensive yards posted by 1 player), and we won't forget the circus catches our entire receiving corps made while being interfered with. Most stories from that night are very similar, and mine is no different. With that said, my favorite moment though came after the game was over, I now have a #63 Red Cajuns jersey that I bought when you could buy Jerseys through the university (yea, he sold me a red one, not sure how or why, but I jumped on it, now I consider Jarad Martin my kindred spirit, was glad to see him in the 2 deep, hopefully he starts next year). Anyway, as I was leaving, a girl (around 11 years old) came up and gave me a high five, and a little boy (about 7) came up as well and gave me a high five with their parents. The little boy asked me if I were a UL football player and I told him that I wasn't good enough to be a player for UL. What the little boy said next absolutely made my night worth every minute. The little boy told me "I want to grow up to be a UL Football Player". I talked to him a few minutes more and told him that if he worked really hard he could one day be a UL Football player. It was incredibly rewarding to see a child so excited about UL football. Its so exciting for all of us, but to see someone that young so excited about UL football was incredibly rewarding. This is the best time to be a Ragin Cajun. Our future is so bright!

The commercial they have been running on 1420 with Jay's call and Huds pregame speech is classic. Goosebumps

I had a semi-similar experience. I crossed him coming into the hotel thru the turnstile looking a bit confused. However, I didn't acknowledge him and kept walking out. I too found the hand sanitizer and a cold shower

    Default NOLA bowl champions shirts?

I think there was a thread about this earlier but I couldn't find it. Does anyone know where I could get the official NOLA bowl champs shirt (like the ones the team got)? I looked around but everywhere I went to seemed to be cleaned out with only Youth sizes left. So far, I've checked: Bell's, Louisiana Hot Stuff, Wallgreens, and Academy.

Yeah, just depends on when and how it's used. I had no problem with Basquel or the 2000 DA uses.

Damn, 'bug! Z was more of "bad influence" on your daughter than Bourbon Street???? You gotta watch that man!!! Glad y'all had a great time! I know I sure did! Unfortunately, didn't see too many "Eauquers" (except for Just1More, briefly, heading out of the Dome). I did look for Boomer in the piano bar at Pat O's, but he was nowhere to be seen!
