MY LIFE IS COMPLETE.
You, Jeremy and I were all at Cats then you disappeared. Figured you died so I went to Harrah's.
Brett Baer's 50-yard field goal as time expired lifted Louisiana to a 32-30 victory over San Diego State Saturday evening in the 2011 R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in front of a record crowd of 42,841.
Trailing 30-29 with 35 seconds remaining, Blaine Gautier capped off a record-setting performance of 470 yards passing by directing Louisiana (9-4) into SDSU territory for Baer's game clincher.
Starting at the UL 18, Gautier completed back-to-back passes to Javone Lawson that covered 39 yards and moved the Cajuns to the SDSU 43.
Gautier found Harry Peoples on the sideline for five yards to the SDSU 38 to move into the 50-yard field goal range, then a five-yard penalty against the Aztecs (8-5) moved Baer and the Cajuns a little closer to victory.
Baer successfully converted the 50-yard field goal as time expired - his first career 50-yard field goal make - to give UL its first nine-win season since 1976.
THANKS!!!
You are 100% correct. I have been promoting legal action for years (reference some of my posts). The name is issue is huge, which is why some ugly folks in BR went to great lengths to sabatoge it. Becuase they knew how important it was and is. I love the idea of having a legal brand name, which could be done rather quickly. The other option is go back to court, much has changed since the 1980's, Louisiana would prevail this time around (read my postings of legal matters). Does anyone on this board know of the extent (if any) the administration has gone to prevent this sad name game to continue this long on ESPN? If the bowl game coverge of our name doesn't wake up the administration to take corrective action, nothing will. The Espn's, AP and the USA today's of the world will go along with your request when coaxed by legal action. It is what they understand. In ESPN's case I really am now convinced that it is an intentional slight. Like most bloated companies, they don't like someone telling them what to say. They are almost like the Federal Reserve, no matter how much pleading by people how sinister they are, they will do what they want, whenever they want and not abide by anyones wishes, unless and when they feel like it. How do you combat that type of arrogance? Legal methods will get the message across and watch them change their tune.

Don't rely on this guy for your football bets. Geaux Cajuns!!!
however many minutes of reading stats, and he freaking missed a huge, huge one. Yea our special teams are special with the only weakness kickoffs. Saturday they were OK, not great, but OK. Made a few mental errors on special teams, and the zebras missed a foul on the blocked field goal.
Next thing people keep forgetting. There is more than one reason we suffer a time of possession difference. We score often and on big, big plays. You do not get that from a casual read of team stats.
But you are right never use this guy as your betting advisor.
After Saturday nights hatchet job by ESPN, I think you're correct. And I don't think it would necessarily mean going to the Louisiana courts, as anyone can purchase the copyrights to a name/brand etc. Its almost like buying a domain name....
Don't get me wrong, the emails are a great way of getting grass root support. But these mistakes by ESPN and others are not being done by folks that issue orders, rather by those who are taking orders. You can bet the promo insert during the Ohio game where the wrong logo was used was not done by anyone with any authority at ESPN, but by some production assistant or even an intern working the weekend shift in production. The guys sitting in production control could care less, they just want a nice, tight, clean show (er..game). Chances are you'd have to get to the middle upper or upper level of ESPN on-air production person. If the school would get involved, I'm sure there is a VP of Quality Control or some sort that would take the call. Otherwise, its just ____'n in the wind.
I find it ironic that some are saying "just win and this name thing works itself out"....Well, UL put on a show Saturday night, won the game, and still it was UL Lafayette on all of the highlights extending into Sunday. Its going to take someone with some real muscle, either legally or financially, to change this situation with ESPN etc, et al.
