It's almOst like espn goes out of their way to call us Lafayette. I understand the name issue although I think it's stupid- but we ain't "lafayette" either. Anyone else see this?

I agree, I had my bestfriend( a current Latech student) with me at the game. By the end of the game he was just as emotionally drained and hoarse from screaming/celebrating as I was. He even was decked out in UL attire all weekend and watched the replay on espnu last night! As much as it hurts me to say this I will actually try to return the favor and pull for them against TCU Wednesday. It would be pretty cool for the state of LA to go 3-0 in bowl games. Saturday night is a event that I will never forget. It's now time to hold on to the rope even tighter and to push for our program to go where it's never gone before. I have already starting planning the trips to Gainsville, and Stillwater.
The running game was solid. I wouldn't have minded seeing some more carries. Especially in the 4th when we threw back to back fade's to green from inside the 5. Not to mention the running game would have been better if everyother snap wouldn't have been skidding to Gautier. He almost looked like he was shagging grounders in the infield.
When SDState scored the go ahead touchdown people started filing out of the dome. My friends and I were screaming at them with whatever voice we had left. Don't leave, don't go, remember the ULM game. Don't let go of the rope. I thought about those people as I left the dome. They walked out disappointed, I walked out a very happy fan and we were for the same team. With all the talk about not leaving early this year, some people will never learn. They bought a ticket, drove to the game, probably rented a hotel room and did not see the Cajuns win the game. They have to be feeling pretty dumb right now.
I don't understand ESPN. Through the first half of this season, we were Louisiana on TV and the website. Then a complete 180. I wonder what happened?
The older couple next to me did the same thing... wierd. 99% of us stayed though and that is a new thing for Cajun fans.
Of course they were yelling "down in front" most of the game also so when they left, it was addition by subtraction.
Let's not forget to cheer on FIU as they make their bowl appearance tomorrow as well. I have a feeling that the Sun Belt stands a good chance to go 3-0 this bowl season
A lot of OUR fans had ULL signs and kept yelling ULL. People sitting right behind me were doing that. Everyone had Louisiana Lafayette shirts. Sometimes, we are our own worse enemy. And to the poster who said "who cares, we won", a lot of us care. A lot of us are tired of being referred to as ULL, Louisiana Lafayette, U LA LA, UL Laf, U Laf, Lafayette, etc. etc.
ESPN pretty much controls the college football market and they choose to continuously call us Louisiana Lafayette, UL Lafayette and just Lafayette, apparently no matter what we send them. And, ESPN repeatedly showed signs of SDSU playing Lafayette College (see attached picture) during the prior bowl game.
UL is now taking steps to BRAND itself as Louisiana. Unfortunately, we got branded around the country as Louisiana Lafayette Saturday night. It's not too late, but Saturday night would have been a great place to start.
