New head coach candidate for the Saints, Donnie Henderson had the following to say about who would be making player personnel decisions. I guess he is laying the groundwork for his next employer after the Saints if it goes like all other in the Saints cavalcade of coach killers.

"Based on our discussions today, I would have a hands-on approach, but let's be honest, (Loomis) is the GM, and you know who the boss is," Henderson said. "You have your input about who you'd like to have."

"let's be honest, (Loomis) is the GM" . . . OK
"and you know who the boss is," . . . Tom Benson

Lets face it Henderson has this organization nailed from the get-go.

I have a dinner bet at Zea that he becomes a Saint if drafted, and he will not demand they not draft him. What say you Z, feel like buying me and the Mrs. a dinner, or do you feel you only want to offer your behind?

Only problem is he's not the best QB in this year's NFL draft. That guy from Texas is no. 1.

Also, back to the subject matter, Hasslet was the winner when he was fired as coach of the sAINT'S. It will take divine intervention to pull that team out of the muck.

Hasless helped create the mess, and yes he is a winner in the sense he is being paid in spite of his complete, utter, and dismal failure as a coach.

Noise is that the number one quarterback is likely to become a Texan. So that leaves Linert and Bush as the top prospects. Running backs in my opinon are a dime a dozen. Every year we see them run for 1500 plus yards and move on to become mediocre. Draft should be on defense first, offensive lineman, quarterback, wide out, running back.

Young will not be as good a pro as Lienert and most teams see that. Young won't be able to throw side arm at the pro level, also having lined up in the shotgun as much as he did will hurt him in the long run and he will not be able to run on a pro defense like he did this last year. Young is a great college player and might even be one of the best college QB's ever but I don't think he will be a great pro.
