Does anyone have any idea what kind of festivities will be going on? I would like to attend but I would have to convence my wife that the $60 is worth it.

If you went to a restaurant and ate a 3 or 4 course meal you would spend $60.

The restaurant would not have the Cajuns in all their glory, right?

We'll be there. I bought the tickets and I am a wife!

  5. UL Football 2006 Football Awards Banquet

Tyrell Fenroy has just begun his journey as a running back for Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns, but he's already a star.

Fenroy was loaded with awards on his way out of the building on Saturday night as UL honored members of its 2005 Sun Belt Conference champions in its annual banquet.

The Sun Belt Conference Freshman of the Year was the first running back in school history to rush for over 1,000 yards, and received the Offensive MVP Award from former Cajun Fred Stamps along with the Robert Trahan Special Achievement Award and other honors.

Linebacker Tyler Norman was the Defensive MVP, while Jason Chery was presented with the Brian Mitchell Special Forces MVP honor.

It seems to me that Justin deserves some kind of comeback award or a stick-to-itiveness award to be handed out in his name yearly.

I didn't get to make this year’s banquet though I have stood around taking pictures for previous ones in 03, 04 and 05. I have never eaten at one since I guess I can't see myself spending $30 to eat where my wife isn't present. They tell me the food is quite good though.

Even though I didn't attend, I was able to provide the film dept with video of an away game they were missing, (thanks Charlie) and on the jersey plaques that were handed out I was able to make and install the names at the bottom of the frame.

So no I wasn't there, but in no way do I recommend missing, the video highlights alone are worth $25 I just don't recommend going alone.

Bustle advised we have established a bar that we cannot have any "excuse" for not meeting or exceeding, and he definitely does not want to share next seasons trophy.

Mike Desormeaux was in attendance and looking good.

Again the food was plentiful, and really good. You should plan on attending next year.

Texas players took most of the awards for those who think we need more from the Lone Star state, and Freshman of the year Tyrell Fenroy took honors as well.

Is it just me or do the Saints need to take a look at #62 as they really need a quality center.

A little bird told me that a certain kicker has hired or is looking into hiring an agent and hopes to get a shot at the NFL. Good luck Mr. Comisky

Eugene Kwarteng won an variety of awards, another birdie told me Mr. Kwarteng is an excellant student.

Booker Jenkins got one of the Big Hit awards, his video showed him blowing some defensive back into yesterday on a touchdown run.

Justin Venable the all time record holder for years in an NCAA football program was honored. Exactly how many degrees does Justin hold.

Georgia Linebacker Tyler Norman grabed several important awards, as did Babb.

One of my favorite players Dwight Lindon a prop who got his first degree in 3.5 years won an award or two, and Dwight can become a great alumnus in the future. I have met his father many times over his career, a wonderful guy, and the nut does not fall far from the tree.

Sorry if these teasers were not good enough, but you should go next year and get the full experience.

I agree it was a good crowd and the fans were pumped up, good food, good laughs and a bunch of great hilights that wrapped up an awesome season. I could see going with a group of guys. I was the only girl at our table until one more wife finally arrived!

I will download my pictures soon...too busy with other stuff yesterday.

We did speak with Sean as well and he was much more positive about his football future than he was in the late part of the season.

I also agree when you get that kind of compliment from Jake Delhomme that yes, Greg Hodges (#62) is a great center. We also all know the Saints and know they look at but never go out and get the good guys!
