stAte and the Sun Belt will get a lot of publicity from this hire. This is a good thing to have SBC coaches leaving for better jobs and having big name coaches coming to coach in this league. It is all about perception and the fact that Malzahn is considered a guru will only help the league when we kick his $&%@.

Interesting that Malz was OC of the Year running an offense that was diametrically opposed to his philosophy and Asst of the year with Cam Newton.

Besides UL going the same route with Bustle, UL went the same route with Stokely. Been there done that.

Turbine. Successful coaches come from all different molds. Just because it didn't work with us with Bustle does not mean it won't work with them with Malzahn.

Also, Malzahn is much much much much more highly regarded at the time of his hiring than Bustle was.

While you are 100% correct, I don't think I'll see another coordinator et al hired as HC at UL, at least during my lifetime.

Thinking about it? Yea, a real good hire. Reminds me of the Jesse Evans hire. Jesse could walk into that living room wearing a huge championship ring. Now ASU will have a coach with the same effect on ASU recruits. I suspect Memphis football will suffer for a long, long time. This guy stealing kids from the Metro Memphis area, and other places as well.

Watching the Tim Brando show today and three important things were said.

I: Hud will be a guest on Friday.

II: ASU coach had several good job offers last year before the wife You Tube rant, and he had a big yuk, yuk

III: LTU needs to step up to the Sun Belt pay grade with a big yuk, yuk about them not wanting to be a part of the Belt, or winning the WAC.


Also commented about Hud being the highest paid for about two days.
