They want to go from the lowest paid coach to the highest paid coach in the SBC and he would still have to take a serious pay cut ... those things don't add up; unless his current job is in jeopardy.

Just what is the highest paying job in the SBC? MT had the highest at $585K. His is supposed to be the new highest, but UL still hasn't finalized Hud's new contract estimated to be at approx. $650K and the new leader. Does ASU beat MT now for the highest salary or UL whenever it finalizes Hud's contract? I guess timing will determine the leader when all is finalized.

If they do, then they are crazier than I thought. Hud and Stock will have their salaries where they are because of what they have accomplished coaching, stAte would be paying him based on what they hope he will accomplish. UL did it right, you hire a young up and comer and pay him big when he makes it, now if stAte hires him at 800k+, they couldn't afford to let him go until the end of his contract because his buyout would be huge. Also, all that money taken up by the headman won't leave a lot of room to hire coordinators. We shall see.

Oh. My. God. What a freakin wacko! She had either knocked back a fifth of Jack, or she's the most insane human walking the face of the earth. Maybe she's why he hasnt gotten the big time job yet. I know that if I was a school president, there is no way in hell I'd want that woman to have anything to do with my university. I thought Malzahn to stAte was completely ridiculous, but now I think there may be something to it. He probably no other options if he wants to be a head coach.

I can see it now. For next year's big game at ASU instead of raffling off a deer stand they can raffle off chances to put the best shots in the county on deer stands & Kristi in a deer suit in the woods & have some of the locals hone their shooting skills.

ESPN broke the story today that an offer was made, the question is can they come to an agreement with a legitmate offer? ASU was paying Freeze $275,000, they are going to have find some money from deep pockets because Arkansas caps all employees of the state pay at $175,000. They only had to raise $100,000 for Freeze.
