When are we going to shart signing some 4 year players? The juco players are fine, but we need players who will stick around a little longer...Four years of consistency is not a bad thing...
If the Wallace kid did sign Coach Lee has signed 3 high school players this signing period. I know the kid committed but had not heard he had signed.Originally Posted by Tripple Threat
All the guys we signed for basketball so far this time around are 4 year players and not juco's except for the transfer from colorado state...and that transfer will be very very very good for us.Originally Posted by Tripple Threat
Damon Forest 6'3 from baton rouge
LaRyan Gary 6'6 from carencro
Courtney Washington 6'8 from new orleans orginally but transfered to woodlawn in baton rouge
Marquie Cooke 6'3 transfer from colorado state...was the most decorated played signed by v tech before leaving there for personal reasons and i dont know why he is leaving colorado state.
Thanks for the info., I'm glad to hear there are some four year players coming in. I'll be researching these guys.Originally Posted by Clutch0364
No problem...we were recruiting a big juco center named marcus hubbard but he didn't sign during the early signing period. I have read some good things about him and with the loss of our two best big men this year it would be nice to have someone with experience step in and be able to play right away. The guys we have in back up roles right now (hart and adams) I don't feel have what it takes to start but I guess will have to see.Originally Posted by Tripple Threat
University of Louisiana head basketball coach Robert Lee continues to build future editions of the Ragin' Cajuns through the high school ranks.
Lee said Tuesday that Courtney Wallace, a 6-foot-8, 240-pounder from New Orleans who played at both Brother Martin High and Woodlawn of Baton Rouge during his career, had become UL's sixth high school signee of the year and its seventh scholarship signee overall. Lee said his scholarship paperwork was received Tuesday.
"He is the type of young man you want in your program," Lee said of Wallace. "He's from a good family, he's academically sound, he's a hard worker and most importantly, he wants to be a better basketball player."
Wallace's positive traits were put to the test this year, after he helped lead Brother Martin to back-to-back Top 28 Class 5A state titles at the Cajundome. When Hurricane Katrina rocked New Orleans, Wallace headed an hour north with his family and enrolled at Woodlawn.
"That was really hard," Wallace said Tuesday. "All of us (at Brother Martin) had been together for three or four years and suddenly we had to split up. But I got to Woodlawn, met some good teammates and good people, and we realized we had a chance to do well."

....Ooh my God...How good does this look on paper? Should I wait to get excited?![]()
Now...as many have stated before...What players on our current team will not be returning?
Yes, you should since none of them have set foot on the court for us, even in practice (except for Dees).Originally Posted by RaginEsquire06
