It's good to see that we are getting some respect. Also looks like the SunBelt is getting back to where it should be as one of the top baseball conferences in the country.
This is going to be a very challenging season for us. We lost a lot of talent, and more importantly senior leadership from last years team. I think this is one of the more talent laden teams that we have had in a while, but we are very young and will need for the younger guys to step up both physically and mentally.
If we can gel at the right time, this team could go deep in post season.
On Baseball America's website there is an article from Nov. 25 where they list the top 100 prospects for the class of 2006, as ranked by Perfect Game USA. One of the kids that they listed is from New Iberia by the name of Jared Mitchell. He is the #44 prospect and is listed as a 6', 195lb OF. They have him as undecided. Does anyone know what happened to him? (did he sign anywhere?) They also have him listed as a FB.
Also, what is the status on the park that was supposed to be built behind the first base bleachers?
Thanks in advance for your input, and GEAUX CAJUNS. Should be a great baseball season.
He hasn't signed with anyone yet. He's probably weighing his options between football and baseball. He was the MVP of the 5A All-State Football team.Originally Posted by cajunproud
Well with the great tradition of the baseball program under coach Robe and the football program until Coach Bustle on the rise, this would be a perfect place to play two sports!

There is a lady that works with me who's son plays ball with Jared Mitchell. She says that he is looking to go pro.
If that is his decision then I wish the young man the best of luck.
WHAT ABOUT THE PARK BEHIND THE FIRST BASE BLEACHERS????
