Just a bit of humble pie for a least a few of us. One of the outstanding grads - 17 years old at graduation. Started at 15. Soooo. What were you doing at 15 or 17? I know what I was doing and it wasn't finishing college!! All of these kids were outstanding in may ways. A delight to get to know them. Outstanding grad to be announced Sunday. You should be very proud of each of them. Makes me proud that we can attract such quality students. It was an honor to get to interview them as part of committee that selected the outstanding grad. Tough job with such a great group.
And one from Erath.
What a fine group of young scholastic achievers.
Not to knock any of the others... but a 3.91 in EE... Wow!
Yeah Christian is a good dude. I took a few classes with him. Lately it seems the college of engineering tends to take the EE candidates for their outstanding grad. Hhmm...
GPA isn't everything though. Last December we had a guy in EE who had a perfect 4.0 but didn't even get to represent the college. A guy from ITech was nominated instead. I think service goes a long way with the award.
I understand that service and involvement are a big component of the award. Being an EE, I was just commenting on Christian's GPA. It must be difficult for the Engineering Dept to look anywhere but the electrical engineering group for it's representative. Everyone knows an EE with a 3.0 trumps anyone else's 4.0.
Actually, to find high GPA engineers that participate in service work and campus involvement is not usually easy.
1986 BSEE and BSCE
ME's build things, then we let EE's plug them in.
