So reports are that June Jones was nixed for the ASU job. The boosters didn't buy what he was selling, apparently.

Does that mean that the SMU transfer is a no-go?

Tig was a super, super talent coming out of high school. He signed with Ole Miss, but had numerous problems. Nutt ended up getting him placed at Jax State. He got in some more trouble there. Hud and the staff were very aware of his problems, and if they took a flyer on him they must feel good about helping him. He needs supervision and needs to stay away from influences in Batesville, but he can be a big time player if he stays straight.

For his sake, even more than ours, I hope it works out.

He can play right away, as he is coming from a D-II (or whatever it's called now) school, at least I think. He would have 1 to play 1 I think, too.

You cannot move from DII to DI and play right away, only from JuCo can you transfer up and play right away.

He is not moving from DII to DI, he is moving from formally D-1AA to D-1A, more acuratly from FCS to FBS, but you point still holds true, you are not allowed to move up w/o sitting out a year, you can move down from FBS to FCS without doing so.

If i were him I would be concerned, the alumni and the administration can not be too happy with June at this point. But we shall see. It seems to me that this kid may have wanted out even before the JJ announcement.
