Well it is not like any of these guys do not want to join the elite group. Once in they seed the folly of their prior jobs and views.
Only problem now is the SEC seems to have gone to a totally new level where even other BCS conferences are being ignored.
The article points out that Boise State didn't win their conference. Well, Alabama not only didn't win their conference, they didn't even win their division. Yet, they get to play in the title game. The BCS is a travesty created by who, the former Commissioner of the SEC. And we have 2 SEC teams playing in the title game in a repeat game from earlier in the season. LSU clearly belongs in the game. But, Alabama? Please. They already had their shot.
Why didn't Michigan get their rematch with Ohio State a few years back? Because they already had their shot. Let's all stop pretending, cancel the postseason, and all go home after the regular season. What a huge pile of feces this whole thing is.
Got to say I'm of the opinion that the BCS doesn't have anything to do with conference championships, only what is believed to be the best two teams in the country. If they happen to be from the same conference, I'd rather have that game than putting what I'd believe an inferior team. Conference championship games were created to make more money for conferences, and that's all.
The only way to fix it was covered a number of times on other threads in this forum, which is a 16 team playoff scenario where every conference gets a shot as well as a share of the big pie, but that will never happen.
What the BCS is -or is not- is 100% based on criteeria that arrives out of each season and changes on a year-by-year need to promote basis.
Another issue: How is Va Tech even as high as #11? they played like crap the day before the BC$ matches were finalized......seems to me minds were made up prior to the game.
great read Jay
