UL Softball Announces Schedule for 2012 Season

University of Louisiana co-head softball coaches Stefni and Michael Lotief announced the Ragin' Cajuns schedule for the 2012 season on Monday. The softball team hosts three tournaments at Lamson Park and participates in a pair of nationally recognized tournaments on the road, the NFCA Leadoff Classic and Judi Garman Classic.

The list of teams in the three tournaments we will host appears to include some stronger competition than last year's group did. Several from last year were so weak, it not only hurt our RPI...but it also made our hitting appear better than it was. Our hitting ended up being pretty good by years end, but those early pitchers were just not good at all and once we hit better pitching...especially at the Citrus and Garmen tourneys, we struggled.

Can't wait to sit in my seats in that now finished top 20 facility.

Definitely a step up as was expected. We stayed away from the dogs this year which will be huge. Only seven of our OOC teams had losing records last year. All in all a much better schedule than previous few years.

Two questions: 1) how is Hamilton's knee progressing since her surgery? 2) which couple of newcomers are expected to contribute the most their first year her?
